U.S. Army Sgt. Alex Keehn, a unmanned aerial system operator with the Special Troops Battalion, 1st Brigade, 34th Infantry Division, Minnesota National Guard, and a native of Rochester, Minn., controls “Shadow,” a UAS during a mission Aug. 25 at Forward Operating Base Sharana. Keehn’s unit deployed in July and to augment the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, TF Duke, UAS team. Shadow offers commanders intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities.
