Brandon Mcelhinney, an unmanned aerial systems maintainer with B Company, Special Troops Battalion, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Task Force Duke, from Las Vegas, repairs a rudder on “Shadow,” an unmanned aerial system, before a launch at Forward Operating Base Sharana Aug. 24. Shadow provides commanders intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities, and provides them with situational awareness.
