JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO - FORT SAM HOUSTON - (Jun 1, 2018) Gunner's Mate 2nd Class John Rentz of Medford, Ore., a recruiter assigned to Navy Recruiting District (NRD) San Antonio, was promoted to the rank of petty officer first class in America’s Navy by Cmdr. Jeffrey Reynolds, NRD commanding officer during a frocking ceremony held at NRD headquarters. Rentz is a 2011 graduate of Redmond High School in Redmond, Ore., and enlisted in the Navy in 2011.
