Spc. Alec Erhard (right), combat medic for the 477th Medical Company (Ground Ambulance), and Maj. Edward Orellana, a linguist from the 141st Military Intelligence Battalion and whose parents are originally from El Salvador, both attached to Combined Joint Task Force – Hope, communicate with local nationals during a Medical Readiness Training Exercise in Canton Espino Abajo as part of Beyond the Horizon 2018 on May 29. BTH is an annual U.S. Army South and U.S. Southern Command's humanitarian and civic assistance program exercise deploying active Army, National Guard and Reserve Soldiers alongside servicemembers from other branches of the US Military, and Salvadoran military and civic agencies which will bring vital services and resources to rural communities of the host nation.
