JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (May 16, 2018) Hospitalman Sarah Rader hands a surgical instrument to Lt. Cmdr. Erin Hamersley (an ear, nose and throat physician) during a procedure at Naval Hospital Jacksonville’s operating room. Rader, a native of Reno, Nevada, says, “As a corpsman, I get to experience some great things in clinic and the operating room. I feel like medicine is always evolving and it’s exciting to be a part of that.” Corpsmen play a key role in the medical and dental readiness of sailors and Marines.
