FEMA Environmental Planning and Historic Preservation Division (EHP), The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and the Puerto Rico State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) work hand in hand in order to establish protocols to avoid and minimize damaging impact to the historical and archaeological findings during debris removal operations.Coastal erosion caused by Hurricane María has left multiple archaeological deposits exposed throughout the island.
