JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (May 10, 2018) Italiano Scott and Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Jerome Council, both biomedical equipment technicians, troubleshoot a heart monitor at Naval Hospital Jacksonville’s Biomedical Engineering shop. “The equipment we fix helps our patients,” explained Scott, a native of Lexington, North Carolina. “We’re behind the scenes helping the hospital’s mission, supporting safe patient care.” The Mayor of Jacksonville, Florida proclaimed May 20 - 26 as Healthcare Technology Management Week, recognizing the professionals responsible for the care, safety, and accuracy of medical equipment.
