JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (May 3, 2018) Ensign Rhonaka Williams, a nurse at Naval Hospital Jacksonville’s maternal infant unit, reviews discharge instructions with Machinist’s Mate 3rd Class Danesha Jones and Machinist’s Mate 3rd Class Tyreke Jones after the birth of their baby boy. Williams, a native of Spartanburg, South Carolina, enjoys taking care of babies and moms. “We’re the first people they get help from after delivery. Navy Nurse Corps members pride ourselves on patient safety, patient care, and compassion.” Since 1908, the women and men of the Navy Nurse Corps have honorably served in hospitals and clinics, aboard hospital ships, and have flown with wounded from battle-torn areas.
