A rigid-hull inflatable boat assigned to the amphibious dock landing ship USS Comstock (LSD 45) comes alongside a Kuwait coast guard boat to transfer personnel before a high value unit exercise. The Kuwait coast guard protected Comstock from simulated small boat threats as part of exercise Eager Mace 11-2, a bilateral amphibious engagement between the armed forces of the U.S. and Kuwait. Comstock is underway supporting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
