Pacific Ocean, NNS (April 17, 2018) USS Stockdale (DDG 106) flight deck crewmembers remove the tie-down gear from an MH-60R helicopter of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 71 during an underway Cruiser-Destroyer (CRUDES) Surface Warfare Advanced Tactical Training (SWATT) exercise. Stockdale is one of three CRUDES warships from USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) Carrier Strike Group (CSG) completing a CRUDES SWATT exercise. The other ships participating in the Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center (SMWDC) led exercise are USS Mobile Bay (CG 53) and USS Spruance (DDG 111). SWATTs are designed to increase warfighting proficiency, lethality, and interoperability of participating units. (U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist 2nd Class Amanda A. Hayes/released)
