The image shows the interior of a hydroelectric power plant turbine hall containing two large generator units with circular housings and upper access platforms connected by metal staircases and railings. The facility features light blue/mint painted walls, high windows providing natural light, and a polished concrete floor. A single worker in blue coveralls and a white hard hat is visible walking near the foreground generator unit.

Two hydroelectric turbines at the Kajaki hydroelectric power plant. Each turbine turns at 300 rotations per minute, produces 16.5 megawatts of electricity and has 23,000 horsepower. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Afghanistan Engineer District-South and Afghan engineers recently completed installation of a primary switch center at the Kajaki dam to resolve electrical problems.
