An aerial photograph shows a formation of four naval vessels underway on open water under overcast skies. The group includes what appear to be large amphibious warships, a frigate or destroyer, and a smaller fast patrol or corvette-type vessel moving at high speed. A landmass or island is faintly visible on the horizon in the upper right.

180331-N-PH222-1208 PACIFIC OCEAN (March 31, 2018) Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2), left, San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS Anchorage (LPD 23), center, and Whidbey Island-class dock landing ship USS Rushmore (LSD 47), execute a maneuver in response to a simulated small boat attack exercise. Anchorage is underway with 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) for an amphibious squadron and MEU integration (PMINT) exercise. PMINT is a training evolution between Essex Amphibious Ready Group and 13th MEU, which allows Sailors and Marines to train as a cohesive unit in preparation for their upcoming deployment.
