180402-N-AH771-0019 U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (April 2, 2018) Quartermaster 1st Class Eric Waters, assigned to Assault Craft Unit (ACU) 4, points to a landing zone for a landing craft, air cushion after departing from the well deck of the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7) during Alligator Dagger. Led by Naval Amphibious Force, Task Force 51/5th Marine Expeditionary Expedition Brigade, Alligator Dagger integrates U.S. Navy and Marine Corps assets to practice and rehearse a range of critical combat-related capabilities available to U.S. Central Command both afloat and ashore to promote stability and security in the region.
