180312-N-VG727-109 WATERS SOUTH OF JAPAN (March 12, 2018) Amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1) sails next to the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Dewey (DDG 105) as the two ships operate together. Dewey, assigned to the Wasp Expeditionary Strike Group, is on a scheduled deployment in the Indo-Pacific region to support training under the U.S. Pacific Fleet’s Up-Gunned ESG concept and to serve as a forward multi-mission asset for any type of contingency.
