Buzz Donnelly, commanding officer of the Navy's forward-deployed aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), and Sarah Buchholz, communications team lead for Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society (NMRCS) Yokosuka, cut the cake during the kick-off to the active duty fund drive on the mess decks. NMCRS is a non-profit, volunteer service organization to help support Sailors, Marines and their families in times of financial need. Ronald Reagan, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the collective maritime interests of its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
