SAN DIEGO (Feb. 2, 2018) Friends and families of Sailors assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) wait pierside as the ship pulls into port. America, part of the America Amphibious Ready Group, with embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, is returning from a regularly scheduled deployment to the Western Pacific and Middle East.
