Command Sgt. Maj. Debbie Schroder, the command sergeant major of the 310th Expeditionary Command and an El Paso, Ill. native, comforts Cpl. Matt Bradford during a heartfelt speech about the injuries he sustained during deployment at the theatre hospital on Joint Base Balad April 28. Bradford, a Petersburg, Va. native, came to Balad during a weeklong visit to Iraq as a part of Operation Proper Exit, a program to help wounded warriors get closure.
