United States Army Special Operations Command’s Black Daggers Parachute Team jumps in during a demonstration to kick off the SFC Thornsbury Obstacle Course competition at Fort Stewart, Georgia on Nov. 15, 2017. The SFC Thornsbury Obstacle course is in memory of Sgt. 1st Class Duane A. Thornsbury, Alpha Company, 2nd Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne), who died from injuries sustained in a vehicle rollover in Baghdad, Iraq September 12, 2009. The obstacle course competition is part of Marne Week, a celebration for Soldiers to compete in team sports and recreational group activities while honoring the division’s service to the nation. This month marks the centennial anniversary of the Marne Division. Born out of World War I, the division has answered the nation’s call for 100 years.
