From above in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, the body slob is used to contain the thousands of cubic yards of debris that is being collected by the Virgin Islands Department of Public Works throughout the island. There is an estimated 1.1 million cubic yards of debris between the islands of St. Croix, St. John and St. Thomas. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is providing debris technical assistance to the Virgin Islands Department of Public Works in St. Croix and is leading the debris removal missions in St. Thomas and St. John.
