Iraqi Army leaders assigned to 4th Battalion, 21st Brigade, 5th IA Division plan an assault mission using U.S. Soldiers from 2nd Advise and Assist Brigade, 25th Infantry Division to provide security and over watch at Forward Operating Base Normandy, Iraq, March 22. U.S. soldiers stepped out of their instructor roles during the Tadreeb al Shamil rotations while Iraqi cadre assumed control of the individual and collective training. Tadreeb al Shamil, Arabic for all-inclusive training, leads IA battalions through 25-day training courses in order to build national military capabilities for Iraq’s ground forces.
