Iraqi army soldiers assigned to 4th Battalion, 21st Brigade, 5th IA Division drive by a simulated Improvised Explosive Device during a training exercise at Forward Operating Base Normandy, Iraq, March 22. Iraqi troops trained on reaction to IEDs and snipers during the class as part of Tadreeb al Shamil, the Iraqi-led training initiative aimed at modernizing and bolstering Iraq’s military capabilities. U.S. soldiers of 2nd Advise and Assist Brigade, 25th Infantry Division carefully observed and reviewed the training after transitioning control of teaching duties to Iraqi instructors.
