Iraqi soldiers assigned to 4th Battalion, 21st Brigade, 5th Iraqi Army Division, clear a room as part of a Tadreeb al Shamil class at Forward Operating Base Normandy, Iraq, March 21. Iraqi instructors, recent graduates of previous iterations of Tadreeb al Shamil training, taught the classes while U.S. soldiers of 2nd Advise and Assist Brigade, 25th Infantry Division provided feedback to the instructors following the classes. Sgt. Jeremy Mingle, an instructor assigned to Company A, 1st Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, 2nd AAB, said training Iraqi soldiers taught him patience and respect. "I’ve gained a lot more respect for the soldiers," said Mingle, from Cortland, N.Y. "I have a lot of respect for those guys for wanting to step up to the plate to do their job and help defend their country.”
