170929-N-KW679-0047 PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten (September 29, 2017) Capt. Steven Stacy, left, Southern Partnership Station 17 (SPS 17) mission commander, leads Soldiers and Marines assigned to Joint Task Force Leeward Islands (JTF-LI) onto the expeditionary fast transport vessel USNS Spearhead (T-EPF 1). JTF-LI deployed to Sint Maarten to assist in humanitarian aid and disaster relief efforts after Hurricane Irma hit the island. SPS 17 is a U.S. Navy deployment executed by U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command/U.S. 4th Fleet, focused on subject matter expert exchanges with partner nation militaries and security forces in Central and South America.
