Petty Officer 1st Class Matthew Walter, naval air crewman (operational level), of Howard, Kan., assigned to Patrol Squadron 4, takes a photo of debris at a pier in a northern-Japanese port while on board a P-3 during an aerial survey of the region. With the squadron's communication and real-time capabilities, the Navy will gain more knowledge of where it can provide vital humanitarian and relief support to tsunami stricken areas of Japan. VP 4 has recently repositioned to Naval Air Facility Misawa in support of Operation Tomodachi.
