170909-N-GR120-154 VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (Sept. 9, 2017) The Joint Services Color Guard parades the colors during the Hampton Roads Morning of Hope walk, where Sailors from the Nimitz-Class aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73) were in attendance. The Morning of Hope walk was sponsored by the Hampton Roads Survivors of Suicide Support Group to raise suicide awareness. George Washington is undergoing a refueling and complex overhaul (RCOH) at Newport News Shipyard. RCOH is a nearly four-year project performed only once during a carrier’s 50-year service life that includes refueling of the ship’s two nuclear reactors, as well as significant repair, upgrades and modernization.
