U.S. Navy retired Capt. Thomas Feeks, a gold star father, talks to troops about the loss of his son during the town hall meeting hosted by Operation Proper Exit, Aug. 8, at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. A gold-star family member is one who has lost a loved one at war. Feeks made the trip with service members participating in Operation Proper Exit, so he can find closure for the loss of his son, U.S. Navy Special Warfare Operator 1st Class Patrick Feeks.
