The image shows two U.S. Navy vessels conducting an underway replenishment (UNREP) operation at sea. A Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser bearing hull number 52 is connected via transfer lines to a larger vessel, likely an aircraft carrier or amphibious assault ship bearing the number 307, visible on the right side of the frame. The operation is taking place in open ocean under overcast skies.

Theodore Roosevelt and Bunker Hill are underway conducting a composite training unit exercise (COMPTUEX) with the Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group (TRCSG) in preparation for an upcoming deployment. COMPTUEX tests a carrier strike group’s mission-readiness and ability to perform as an integrated unit through simulated real-world scenarios.
