Of cancers affecting both men and women, colorectal cancer is the second leading cancer killer in the U.S. People age 50 and over should ask their doctor for a colorectal screening test now. Screening can find growths so they can be removed before turning into cancer. Screening also finds cancer at an early stage, when treatment often leads to a cure.
