MANCHESTER, Wash. (June 19, 2017) – Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) ferry M/V Chimacum pulls up to the fuel pier at Manchester Fuel Depot (MFD) during a functional exercise June 19. WSDOT and NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Puget Sound conducted the exercise as a “fit test” to see if the fuel pier could accommodate the ferry and safely deliver fuel. MFD is a potential resource to support fuel requirements for WSDOT ferries while engaged in response efforts in the aftermath of a major natural disaster if WSDOT fuel facilities are damaged. (U. S.
