MANCHESTER, Wash. (June 19, 2017) – Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) ferry M/V Chimacum gets underway after a June 19 functional exercise at Manchester Fuel Depot (MFD). WSDOT and NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Puget Sound conducted the exercise as a “fit test” to see if the fuel pier could accommodate the ferry to safely deliver fuel. MFD is a potential resource to support fuel requirements for WSDOT ferries while engaged in response efforts in the aftermath of a major natural disaster if WSDOT fuel facilities are damaged. (U. S.
