MANCHESTER, Wash. (June 19, 2017) –NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center (FLC) Puget Sound fuel technicians retrieve a fuel containment boom that was placed around Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Ferry M/V Chimacum during a simulated fueling operation during a functional exercise at Manchester Fuel Depot (MFD) June 19. WSDOT and NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Puget Sound conducted the exercise as a “fit test” to see if the fuel pier could accommodate the ferry to safely deliver fuel. MFD is a potential resource to support fuel requirements for WSDOT ferries while engaged in response efforts in the aftermath of a major natural disaster if WSDOT fuel facilities are damaged. (U. S.
