Materials are lined up along the living shoreline in preparation to extend the new shoreline further out into Lake Ontario, Olcott, N.Y., June 8, 2017. The living shoreline replaces the original shoreline, where stones and material are pulled from the lake to build up a new shoreline which is then reinforced with concrete walls. The process is repeated until the it is extended out to a predetermined distance. (U.S. Air National Guard photo by Staff Sgt. Ryan Campbell)
