A resident of Olcott Beach, N.Y., watches as crews from Niagara County work on building a living shoreline along the Lake Ontario shores in Olcott, N.Y., June 8, 2017. The living shoreline is a process of pulling rock and material from the lake to build up the current shoreline and then reinforce it with concrete walls. The process is repeated as the shoreline is able to be extended further back out into the lake, and built up to prevent further flooding. (U.S. Air National Guard photo by Staff Sgt. Ryan Campbell)
