    U.S. Marines Capt. Jacob Castillo (left) and Lance Cpl. Samuel Sly (right) compete alongside a soldier from the Malaysian Army (center), May 24, 2017, at the Australian Army Skills at Arms Meeting in Puckapunyal, Australia. This year’s AASAM competition brought together 20 different countries for two weeks to compete, learn and build better alliances. The competition was broken into more than 60 individual matches consisting of rifle, pistol and machine guns. Castillo is the intelligence officer for 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment.
