JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska - Cdr. Colby Sherwood, commanding officer of Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS O'Kane (DDG 77), describes the ship's propulsion system to Lt. Gen. Ken Wilsbach, Commander, U.S. Alaska Command in a control space onboard DDG 77. Northern Edge 2017 is Alaska's premiere joint-training exercise designed to practice operations, techniques, and procedures as well as enhance interoperability among the services. Thousands of participants from all the services; Sailors, Airmen, Soldiers, Marines, and Coast Guard personnel from active duty, Reserve and National Guard units, are involved.
