An official party from Iwo Jima and the Guyana government held a ceremony closing the Guyana phase of the Continuing Promise 2010 mission at the school. The multi-purpose amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima is anchored off the coast of Guyana conducting a Continuing Promise 2010 humanitarian civic assistance mission. The assigned medical and engineering staff embarked aboard Iwo Jima are working with partner nation teams to provide medical, dental, veterinary and engineering assistance in eight countries.
