U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. Michael Dubie, Vermont National Guard’s adjutant general, speaks with soldiers of Task Force Wolverine, 86th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Mountain), at a clam shell on Bagram Airfield Sept. 30. He wanted every servicemember to know how proud he and everyone in Vermont were of them and to personally thank them for all their hard work. Dubie had a tight schedule to visit as many of the deployed Vermonters as possible. The deployment of Vermont National Guard troops is the largest active duty call-up since World War II.
