The U.S. flag and the III Corps colors stand on Victory stage following the awards ceremony for the “Historical Half,” a half marathon that took runners through Camps Victory and Liberty Sept. 26, to commemorate the 92nd anniversary of the beginning of the Meuse-Argonne Campaign in 1918. That campaign marked the first combat action the Corps was involved in. The half marathon was conceived of as a way to give Corps soldiers and other service members a fitness goal to work towards, said Lt. Col. Robert Menti, III Corps Special Troops Battalion commander.
