A student adds hot water to steep tea leaves during a green tea seminar Nov. 22, 2016 on Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan. The seminar was hosted by Marine Corps Community Services and educated attendees on the historical background, health benefits and proper preparation of Japanese green tea, also known as ryokucha. According to Tsuchiya Naoka, a certified tea specialist, the temperature of the water used determines the health benefits the consumer will receive from the tea, as certain nutrients extract at different temperatures.
