ARABIAN GULF (Oct. 27, 2016) Cmdr. Larry Smith, from Jacksonville, Fla., reviews updated flight information in primary flight control of the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) (Ike). Smith is serves aboard Ike as the assistant air officer and is responsible for the departure and recovery of all outbound and inbound aircraft. Ike and its Carrier Strike Group are deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
