ARABIAN GULF (Oct. 27, 2016) Petty Officer 3rd Class David Bowman, from Petersburg, Va., reviews a pressure gauge during scheduled maintenance on a weapons system aboard the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) (Ike). Bowman serves aboard Ike as a fire controlman and is responsible for all the self-defense systems of the ship. Ike and its Carrier Strike Group are deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
