    ARABIAN GULF (Oct. 16, 2016) Petty Officer 2nd Class Ricardo Rodriguez signals to lower a jet blast deflector on the flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69). Rodriguez serves as an aviation boatswain's mate (equipment) aboard the ship and is responsible for the safe launch and recovery of aircraft aboard the ship. Eisenhower and its Carrier Strike Group are deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
