161011-N-JS726-335 SUBIC BAY, Philippines (Oct. 11, 2016) Sailors aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) observe a landing craft, utility, assigned to Naval Beach Unit Seven, onload 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) machinery. Bonhomme Richard is in Subic Bay to pick up 31st MEU personnel and equipment following Philippine Amphibious Landing Exercise (PHIBLEX) 33. PHIBLEX 33 is an annual U.S.-Philippine military bilateral exercise combining amphibious landing and live-fire training with humanitarian civic assistance efforts to strengthen interoperability and working relationships.
