A Sailor assigned to the amphibious transport dock ship USS New Orleans brings the rat guard aboard as the ship prepares to deploy for a scheduled three-month deployment. New Orleans is departing Naval Station San Diego to participate in Southern Partnership Station, an annual deployment of U.S. military training teams to the U.S. Southern Command area of responsibility in the Caribbean and Latin America.
