Lance Cpl. Lawrence T. Singletary, a 20-year-old rifleman from Trenton, N.J., stands security in Sadiquiyah, Iraq. Singletary and other members of I Company I, 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment were setting up vehicle checkpoints in the area to detour insurgency. Singletary is a squad automatic weapon gunner. He is currently serving a seven-month deployment in the Habbaniyah area under Regimental Combat Team 5.
