A close-up photograph of a military dog tag hanging from a ball chain necklace against a warm, bokeh-lit background. The tag bears embossed text identifying a soldier with the name Robinson, dated 1 March 2009, associated with Fort Dix, New Jersey. The warm candlelight or ambient lighting in the background creates a solemn, memorial atmosphere.

A ceremony held in honor of all fallen comrades of all wars and all nations is held at Camp Eggers, Kabul, Afghanistan. During a speech by Lt. Gen. William B. Caldwell, IV, the question was asked, "What does it takes for a regular citizen to rise to the challenge and be willing to make the ultimate sacrifice in service to their nation?" Caldwell answers the question, "The values of loyalty, duty, respect, selfless-service, honor, integrity, and personal courage," adding that each and every nation shows these values in their service to their countries. Caldwell closed his speech by saying, "Let us all use this day to focus our thoughts and prayers to cherish the memory of those loved and lost in the defense of our nations." Camp Eggers is headquarters to NATO Training Command - Afghanistan.
