A U.S. Army soldier in ACU (Army Combat Uniform) stands with head bowed during what appears to be a candlelight memorial or vigil ceremony. He is holding a printed program or pamphlet and a candle, surrounded by other military personnel and civilians also holding candles. The warm candlelight illuminates the solemn gathering in an outdoor setting.

A member of camp Eggers takes a moment of silence during a ceremony that was held in honor of all fallen comrades of all wars and all nations today. During a speech by Lt. Gen. William B. Caldwell, IV, the question was asked, "What does it takes for a regular citizen to rise to the challenge and be willing to make the ultimate sacrifice in service to their nation?" Caldwell answers the question, "The values of loyalty, duty, respect, selfless-service, honor, integrity, and personal courage," adding that each and every nation shows these values in their service to their countries. Caldwell closed his speech by saying, "Let us all use this day to focus our thoughts and prayers to cherish the memory of those loved and lost in the defense of our nations."
