160811-N-ZZ999-001 001 BARKING SANDS, Hawaii (Aug.11, 2016) Construction Mechanic 3rd Class Andersen Gardner, assigned to Underwater Construction Team (UCT) 2, inspects the divers recall system prior to the day’s dives. The divers recall is used to communicate to divers on SCUBA if a dive needs to be aborted. UCT 2’s Construction Dive Detachment Bravo (CDDB) is utilizing MK 20 cable cutters at depths greater than 100 feet to remove ten targets at the Pacific Missile Range Facility, Barking Sands, which have surpassed their intended lifespan. CDDB is on the first stop of their deployment, where they are conducting inspection, maintenance, and repair of various underwater and waterfront facilities in support of the Pacific Fleet.
