Ihor Yakovenko, a motor transporter operator assigned to the 1452nd Combat Heavy Equipment Transporter Company, uses a binder to wench down a M1 Abrams Battle Tank to a M1000 HET trailer during the 16-07 National Training Center rotation at Fort Irwin, California on June 10, 2016. The HET Company’s mission was to drop off 16 battle tanks to the 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 34th Infantry Division during their month long force-on-force battle training exercise. The NTC is a training facility designed to simulate real-life combat scenarios testing warriors’ readiness utilizing their military occupational specialty in a high-up-tempo environment.
