North Carolina Army National Guard Spc. Alfred Milett, a wheeled vehicle mechanic assigned to the 626th Maintenance Company, installs a horn onto a M1075 A1 Palletized Loading System at the Logistics Support Area Forward Operating Base Santa Fe during the 16-07 National Training Center rotation at Fort Irwin, California on June 11, 2016. The 626th MC, along with 8 other Guard and Reserve units, are assigned to the 630th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion forming a consolidated maintenance force providing mechanical services and technical knowledge to over 300 pieces of equipment while operating in the 52nd Infantry Division’s area of operation in the Atropian province of Erdabil in the month-long training exercise. The NTC is a training facility designed to simulate real-life combat scenarios testing warriors’ readiness utilizing their military occupational specialty in a high-up-tempo environment.
